Hey Lomandos! Aunt Sarah and I have been thinking about you all a lot lately, and we thought it would be fun to have a place to connect with you where we can share what’s going on in our lives, and you can share what’s going on in yours. So we created this website! Each of us can write to everyone else about fun things that are happening, and we can even comment on what others are saying. Go ahead and click on the pictures to make them larger. When you’re done reading this first post, ask your parents how to log in and start writing stuff. You’ll get the hang of it as we go along š
So what’s new with us? Well we’re in the middle of selling our house so that we can move closer to downtown Denver. This means that over the past month we’ve had to get out of our house a lot of times so that peopleĀ could walk through it and decide if they wanted to live there. Some of those times we’ve gone hiking in the mountains near us, and last Sunday we chose to hike theĀ CastleTrailĀ at Mount Falcon.
Castle Trail
It was pretty sunny when we started, but it soon got cloudy and brisk. Quick changes in weather are pretty common up in the mountains, so we were glad we wore warm clothes!
At the end of the trail is Walker Castle⦠or at least what’s left of it. 100 years ago a wealthy family built a small castle at the very scenic overlook there, but ten years later a bolt of lightning hit it and now all that’s left is ruins. Here are some pictures:
When we were done touring around the ruins we noticed that the clouds were looking stormier. They were getting darker, and we could see in the distance that they were starting to snow on other parts of the mountain! Here are shots of the trail before and after the storm clouds:
Needless to say, we got out of there pretty quickly before the snow had a chance to come down right on us. So we drove back home and had some delicious grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Sound tasty? Ask your parents for some right now!
Before I finish this post, I just wanted to show you a quick video of me sneaking up on Aunt Sarah to throw a snowball at her. Because she was already cold at the end of our hike, she loved it!
