About 2 weeks ago we had our main sewer line clogged up by tree roots. It seems so crazy to me that roots can get through a metal pipe. So because of it clogging, about 1/4 of our down stairs was ruin with stinky dirty sewer water. We couldn’t leave the water sitting there because it would seep into the other rooms so we had to super vac the carpet, cut the carpet, throw away the carpet, bleach the floor so we all the germs would die. SOO MUCH WORK!!!!!! At this point we are at a stand still waiting for our contractor to give us quotes on what everything would cost. Some ideas are to drywall the wall and also put tile on the floor instead of carpet. Our family will keep you updated on the whole process but for now this is Poncho signing off until next time!!!

Amazingly, it didn’t smell bad at all–thankfully! I think we must have caught it right away and it was dishwasher or shower water, maybe. Either way, everything has to go. Fun stuff! Not!
Yeah that just sounds nasty. Sorry you all had to go through that! When we bought our house 4 years ago we had to do a similar thing where we ripped out the basement carpet because of the previous owner’s pet problem, then we had to seal everything with Kilz and re-carpet and repaint. You’re right: it’s a lot of work! Good thing you’re a hard worker 🙂
